Due to immense love and dedication towards her country and religion, she started working as a benefactor of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in 1973 to render her services to the national cause and supported the organization's district executive with full devotion and dedication for years. She carried out various important tasks for mother empowerment, while holding the post of DurgaVahini's convener and as the city president of the Matrmandal during her tenure in Seva Bharati.Owing to her perfect personality, diligence, leadership ability, political skills and social harmony, Dr. Kalpana Saini was also nominated for the post of Councilor in the Municipality, Roorkee. She harnessed immense affection from all sections of the society through rising above the caste and religion and doing well for social cause. During this time her political leadership ability was evident and the public accepted her as the most respected leader.
Along with the unique identity in the field of education, her reputation in the political arena has just expanded. On the basis of which, the top leadership of national party like Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appointed her as the Minister for State’s Enlightened Cell. While working on this post, she did very special work from 2000 to 2004, and left her indelible mark on the public and the national leadership of the party. Due to which she were felicitated with the post of Secretary of the State Discipline Committee in the year 2012. When BJP government declared Roorkee as an organizational district along with Haridwar, the responsibility of the District President of this new district was entrusted to Dr. Kalpana Saini. Even as District President, she did many socio-friendly works by adopting the mantra of 'Sarvajan Hitay, Sarvajan Sukhay'.
Subsequently, she was established as the most recognized leader in the entire society. In 2017, Dr. Kalpana Saini took over as the Independent Director of a national organization like National Fertilizer Limited (NFL). She has proved her mettle not only in education and political field but also in other key sectors. Dr. Kalpana Saini is the Chairman of the Other Backward Classes (OBC) Commission and is setting new dimensions in upgrading the functioning of this Commission. Presently, she is serving as member of parliament Rajya Sabha.
